Bio
Mlindo The Vocalist, from Port Shepstone on KwaZulu-Natal's south coast, was discovered by DJ Maphorisa through social media and signed to Blaqboy Music under Sony Music Entertainment. His Afro-pop is plainspoken and melodic — a clear Zulu vocal over unhurried production — and it connected immediately: his 2018 debut single 'AmaBlesser', with Maphorisa, is certified four-times platinum.
The debut album Emakhaya (2018) went platinum on the strength of around 45 million streams, and 'Macala' reached number one in South Africa; a second album, Lindokuhle, followed in July 2022. He then stepped away for two years to look after his mental health. In July 2025 he returned — reconciled with Maphorisa after a public falling-out, direct in denying the substance-abuse rumours that trailed him, and at work on a new Afro-pop album.
