Musa Keys

Bio

Musa Keys is an amapiano producer, vocalist and DJ whose route into music ran through the church. Born Musa Makamu in Giyani and raised in Polokwane, he learned keyboard from age 13 at the Light of the Nation Church, and the training shows: his productions favour melody and patient arrangement. His debut album, Samarian Boy, arrived in 2020.

'Vula Mlomo', featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu, went double platinum and won Record of the Year at the 2022 South African Music Awards; 'Selema (Po Po)' extended the run. As featured vocalist and co-writer on Davido's 'Unavailable', he earned a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance in 2024; the single spent five weeks at number one on the UK Afrobeats chart and is certified gold in the United States. He won Best Styled Artist at the 2023 Metro FM Music Awards.
