Ndlovu Youth Choir

Bio

Ndlovu Youth Choir is a choral group from Elandsdoorn, a rural community in Limpopo's Moutse region, formed in January 2009 by the Ndlovu Care Group with Ralf Schmitt as artistic director. Drawn from local young people, the choir sets South African vocal harmony and dance against pop arrangements, carrying community choral practice onto international stages.

The turn comes in 2019, when the choir reaches the final of America's Got Talent's fourteenth season and signs with Syco Entertainment in partnership with Sony Music; the debut album Africa enters the South African chart at number one the same year. The 2020 South African Music Awards bring Best Adult Contemporary Album and the International Achievement Award. In 2025 the group records a Zulu-language version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' authorized by Queen's surviving members, and a tour announced for February to August 2026 keeps the choir on the road.
