Pabi Cooper, born Paballo Mothapo in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, is one of amapiano's most recognisable young stars. She started out as a dancer before her debut single "Isphithiphithi" (2021) was certified platinum within six months of release, and she was named Best Newcomer at the Amapiano Awards in December 2021. Her debut EP Cooperville followed in 2022 on her own label, Cooper Entertainment. She has kept up a steady release run since, with singles including "Pabi Jo" (2024) and the DJ Maphorisa-assisted "Pelo Tse Thata" (2025).
