Bio

Toss, from Tsakane in Ekurhuleni, danced before he sang: he started out performing pantsula in the township and spent time in a Kaizer Chiefs soccer development programme — where he picked up the stage name Toss, meaning 'fire' — before turning to music in 2014. His records carry that dancer's instinct, chant-led amapiano built for movement.

'uMlando', with 9umba and Mdoovar, released in January 2022, went platinum, passed 7.5 million streams, peaked at number two on the local chart and won TikTok's 2022 Viral Song of the Year; its dance challenge generated some 270 million TikTok views. He has been candid about the cost of that velocity, speaking about his mental health after fainting on stage in March 2022. In October 2025 he announced a new EP, 1550, his next full statement.
