Bio

Tyler ICU, born Austin Khulani Baloyi, is an amapiano producer and DJ from Kempton Park, Gauteng, whose records are engineered for the biggest rooms available. He broke through nationally in 2020 through studio work with DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, including the single 'Bella Ciao', and quickly established a knack for hooks that travel.

'Banyana', his 2021 DJ Maphorisa collaboration, is double platinum, and 'Izolo' took Record of the Year at the 2022 South African Music Awards. Then came 'Mnike' (2023): sixteen consecutive weeks at No. 1 at home, No. 8 on the UK Afrobeats chart, platinum certification, the CAPASSO Most Streamed Song of the Year at the 2024 SAMAs and an MTV Europe Music Award nomination in a year the ceremony was cancelled. In June 2025 he released Lucent, a 15-track album on his New Money Gang imprint made in tribute to his grandmother.
