Appel
Appel is the stage name of Christoph Kotzé, an Afrikaans singer-songwriter from Brits, North West, who released two albums under his own name before the 2017 debut Lei my na die water launched the Appel project. Albums have followed steadily — Boer loop deur my are (2018), Patriot (2019), which reached number one on the iTunes chart, Hardwerkende Man (2021) and Wille Ding (2023) — alongside the 2025 EP Genesis. His August 2026 single 'Yippee-Ki-Yay', with Riaan Benadé, Ricus Nel and Bok van Blerk, has charted on South African platforms.
