Die Piesangskille is an Afrikaans indie-pop duo formed in August 2022 by North-West University Potchefstroom students Daniel Marais (vocals, from Kimberley) and Johan Balt (guitar, from Knysna). They signed a two-album deal with Universal Music South Africa in January 2023, and their charting song "Inge 2" (2023) appears on debut album Almal Gly. The pair have kept releasing steadily since, with the 2026 singles "Duikweg Vreemdeling" and "Mia (Remix)" keeping them on South African platform charts.
