Felo Le Tee is Tsholofelo Mokhine, an amapiano DJ and producer working out of Pretoria. The stage name is a family tribute: 'Felo' from the end of his first name, 'Le Tee' from his grandmother Lettie Mokhine, who helped raise him. His uncle Abby taught him to DJ, he moved into production in grade 10, and he later studied sound technology at Damelin. The output is peak-hour amapiano — heavy basslines, brassy hooks, drums aimed squarely at the club. His 2021 single '66', with Myztro, reached number 3 on the Official South African Charts and is certified triple platinum; its companion 'Dipatje Tsa Felo' made him, in TimesLIVE's phrase, 'the Dipatje hitmaker'. The pair of tracks brought a 2022 AFRIMA nomination in the African Electro category. He releases through the New Money Gang label under Sony Music Entertainment Africa and remains one of the genre's most vocal public defenders.
