K.Keed

K.Keed, born Mihlali Koyana in Gugulethu, Cape Town, came to rap through poetry, writing rhymes at school inside the township's DIY hip-hop scene. Her 2019 debut single Similes earned community-radio play, and the seven-track Religion (2020) set out the blueprint: trap production, Cape Town slang, and an unorthodox flow that pivots between aggressive bars and melodic hooks. The ALTER-EGO EP (2022), including a Blxckie collaboration, carried her beyond the city and onto stages at Boiler Room's Contemporary Scenes and Rocking the Daisies. By December 2024 she was South Africa's most-streamed female hip-hop artist. Her debut album Bite the Bullet (2025) drew features from A-Reece, Priddy Ugly and Shekhinah and an Apple Music Rap Life Africa spotlight in March; a deluxe edition late in the year added Tellaman, Blxckie and Sastii.
