Prince Kaybee

Prince Kaybee, born Kabelo Motsamai in Senekal, Free State, in 1989, came to music the hard way: he left school in Grade 11, moved to Bloemfontein and found work as a club DJ. National attention arrived when he won the second season of SABC1's DJ competition 1's and 2's in 2015, and his productions since — polished Afro-house with commanding vocal features — have defined the genre's radio-facing wing. 'Club Controller' (2018) is certified six-times platinum and 'Banomoya', with Busiswa and TNS, four-times; both topped the Channel O chart, and 'Banomoya' won Ukhozi FM's Song of the Year. The platinum album Re Mmino (2019) earned him Male Artist of the Year at the 2020 South African Music Awards, and further albums followed through Music Theory (2023). In June 2026 he signed with PLAYY. Records and announced the single 'Heno Babayo' for release under the new deal.
