Bio
Aymos, born in Tembisa, Gauteng in 1989, sings amapiano as if it were soul music, which in his hands it largely is. He rose to prominence on 'Emcimbini', produced by Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, and his warm, weathered tenor has become one of the genre's defining textures — carrying 'Fatela' with Ami Faku and 'Izenzo' with Bassie and T-Man SA to multi-platinum certifications in South Africa.
His catalogue runs from Shonamalanga, a 2020 collaborative album with Mas Musiq, through Yimi Lo (2021) to Impilo (2024), released via Lyf Styl Entertainment, Sound African Recordings and Platoon. At the 2024 Metro FM Music Awards he took Best Male and Best Music Video, and he continues to appear as a sought-after featured voice across the genre's new releases.
