Kamo Mphela

Bio

Kamo Mphela is a dancer first and a vocalist close behind, and her records keep that order audible. Born Kamogelo Matona in Soweto on 29 November 1999, she performed as a child at YFM events she attended with her father, then built a following through dance videos posted to Instagram. Signed to Major League Music, she released her debut EP Twentee in 2019 and followed it with Nkulunkulu in 2021.

'Amanikiniki' with Major League DJz established her; 'Dalie', with Tyler ICU and Khalil Harrison, debuted at number one in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Malawi, reached number 17 on the UK Afrobeats chart and went platinum. She has played London's O2 arena, appears on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, and won Amapiano Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year at the 2024 Basadi in Music Awards. New material continues, including the 2025 single 'Partii' with Aymos.
