Major League DJz are twin brothers Bandile and Banele Mbere, Johannesburg-raised DJs and producers who have become amapiano's most visible global ambassadors. Born in Boston in 1991 to exiled South African parents, the pair cut their teeth promoting parties in Johannesburg before pivoting from hip-hop to amapiano. Their lockdown-era Balcony Mix series carried the genre from Johannesburg rooftops to the world, and in 2022 they became the first amapiano act to play Coachella. Recent work, including the 2025 Jorja Smith collaboration "Come With Me", pushes their log-drum sound into wider electronic territory.
