Sun-El Musician

Sun-El Musician, born Sanele Tresure Sithole in Mooi River, KwaZulu-Natal, in 1989, makes Afro-house that feels widescreen — patient builds, glassy synths and township soul. He began remixing and cutting mixtapes in 2007, then served a long apprenticeship as a producer in Demor Sikhosana's stable before striking out alone, founding the label EL World Music in early 2017. 'Akanamali', his 2017 debut single with Samthing Soweto, reached No. 1 on Shazam in South Africa and swept three prizes at the 2018 South African Music Awards, Best Collaboration among them. The albums Africa to the World (2018) and To the World & Beyond (2020) are both platinum, and he added Remix of the Year at the 2022 SAMAs. His fourth album, Under The Sun, arrived in February 2026, and his Red Bull Symphonic staging with Dlala Thukzin — set for Montecasino in June 2026 — sold out within two hours.
