Nkosazana Daughter sings amapiano at its gentlest — soft, devotional vocal lines that float above the drums. Born Nkosazana Nolwazi Kimberly Nzama in Durban on 6 October 2000, she gained her first wide exposure during lockdown, when an Instagram Live with DJ Maphorisa and Mpura put her voice in front of the genre's tastemakers.
'Sofa Silahlane', with Master KG and Lowsheen, reached number one on the local iTunes chart in May 2022, and the 'Dali Nguwe' video passed three million views within three weeks. Her debut album Uthingo Le Nkosazana entered at number three in South Africa in June 2023, the month Apple Music named her an Africa Rising artist, and Makhelwane, her collaborative album with Master KG, was certified gold in 2024. Her collaborators stretch across the continent — Harmonize, Mr Eazi, Omah Lay, Young Jonn — and new singles such as 'Emsakazweni', with Nobuhle, carried into 2025.
