Born in Boston in 1991 to exiled South African parents, the pair cut their teeth promoting parties in Johannesburg before pivoting from hip-hop to amapiano. Their lockdown-era Balcony Mix series carried the genre from Johannesburg rooftops to the world, and in 2022 they became the first amapiano act to play Coachella.
